Washington, DC (June 18, 2025) — Yan Wang, MD, DrPH, Associate Professor in the Department of Prevention and Community Health at the George Washington (GW) University Milken Institute School of Public Health, has joined the Women’s Health Issues Editorial Board. Women’s Health Issues is the official journal of the Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health, which is based at Milken Institute SPH.

Dr. Wang had worked for more than a decade at the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Medicine before joining GW in 2020. Her research has two main focus areas. She has conducted multilevel modeling, generalized estimation equation (GEE) modeling, survival analyses, and structural equation modeling. She also specializes in evaluating the causal effect in randomized controlled trials and  quasi-experimental studies. Her more than 130 peer-reviewed articles include studies on HIV treatment adherence among female sex workers in the Dominican Republic; body dissatisfaction and physical activity in Black adolescents; and maternal anxiety and diet quality in low-income households.

"We are thrilled to have Yan Wang join the editorial board of Women’s Health Issues,” said Karen McDonnell, Editor-in-Chief of the journal and Associate Professor of Prevention and Community Health at Milken Institute SPH. “Her expertise in applying sophisticated methods to important public health topics will be an invaluable asset to the journal.”
